One Year of Blissology: A Thank-You Note to Our Community

When I opened the doors to Blissology one year ago, I hoped to create something more than a shop. I imagined a place where people could wander in from Leura Mall, drawn by a hint of scent in the air, and discover a moment of calm - maybe even a small ritual to take home.

What I didn’t anticipate was just how deeply this community would shape me.

Over the past twelve months, I’ve had conversations that have gone far beyond skincare. I’ve met incredible women - locals, day-trippers, visitors from across Australia and around the world -who’ve shared stories about work, family, stress, joy, getting older, starting over, and carving out time for themselves. We’ve talked ingredients and routines, but also seasons of life, self-care as survival, and the strange mix of exhaustion and resilience that so many of us quietly carry.

And in those conversations, I’ve realised something simple but powerful:

We all have far more in common than we think.

Blissology’s “modern apothecary” idea is grounded in the belief that caring for your skin is really about caring for yourself - and that self-care often begins with community. Over this past year, that has unfolded in ways I couldn’t have planned:

  • locals who’ve become regulars (and friends),

  • visitors who’ve returned months later with their sisters or partners in tow,

  • travellers who’ve emailed to say that a small bottle of fragrance now reminds them of their trip to the Mountains,

  • and countless moments where someone has said, “I needed this today.”

For a first year of trading - in a tricky retail climate, no less, your support has meant everything. Every purchase, every conversation, every person who’s popped their head in “just to smell something lovely” has helped shape what Blissology is becoming.

So here's to year one! Thank you for embracing a small, local brand and thank you for choosing clean-crafted skincare and botanical fragrance. Thank you for being part of this community - whether you live five minutes away or five time zones away.

With gratitude,

Danielle
